One question, what kind of lycan are the two main protagonists of this comic?

I'm not sure if I quite understand your use of "lycan" in your question but Frankie (brunette) is a mouse and Donna (blonde) is a lynx - both are anthropomorphic characters. Hope that helps!

Because there are anthropomorphic beings based on reptiles I decided that it did not make sense to continue calling furry to these characters, because practically they do not have pelage in general. Because furry art is based on animal-based anthropomorphic beings (generally part human / part animal) I decided to call them lycans because humans who are furry should be called otherwise than, well, furry. So I decided that these beings would be called "lycan" because, in essence, they are human beings with animal characteristics, unlike humans that if they are human. However, there are many comics where furry are present alongside normal humans, and it never seemed right for me that "normal" humans are the only ones with the right to be called humans since the "furrys", in a certain way , Are also human. So to call them somehow if both humans live in the same world / plane / universe I decided to call the furrys humans as "lycans" and humans, like you or me, "sapiens". I've been thinking about this idea for a long time, and I like it a lot, that's the reason I call it that. It could be said that I am against the current, if you prefer. Sorry for the long explanation, but I felt I should clarify my point of view. Regarding your answer, thank you for that, you clarified my first doubt.

Glad to hear the information helped, I appreciate your clarification - I've only heard "lycan" in reference to werewolves before, hence why I wasn't aware of how that related till you explained. :)

Nice explanation. I have a species that is half human/half animal and I call them humanimals. (My icon is one such character.) My humanimals are like the ones you describe; they also have 23 pairs of chromosomes and, as a result, are capable of breeding with full humans. In fact, as I read your description, I thought I was reading a description of my humanimals.

I think the term "Anthro" would be more inclusive, since "Lycan" is based on "Lycos" meaning wolf. And the context in which the term "Lycan" was originally used drives me beyond batty, since I can't call the mutant rats in Underworld wolves. Best representation of werewolves I've seen in a movie was Van Hellsing.
